Phil's Undercar Specialist Shop is a family-owned and operated complete auto, truck, and motorhome repair facility serving the Clinton, Michigan area for over 29 years. Our technicians are certified by the state of Michigan, and our shop has five bays plus a hoist that can handle any vehicle; from your subcompact to a 35-foot RV weighing in at 30,000 pounds. We also offer detailing services and quality used cars for sale.

I look at business like a circle. I take care of my employees and, in return, my employees take care of my customers. My customers become life-long clients who refer their friends and family to us. If the circle is broken anywhere, the business fails. Before I opened my own auto repair business, I worked for a dealership and saw firsthand how I could improve customer service and employee relationships. My goal is to ensure everyone is taken care of properly, so the circle is whole and all are happy and satisfied.

Phil Lanway
Owner
Phil started working on vehicles in 1977, founding Phil's Undercar in October of 1991. Phil's Undercar has since grown from a three-bay shop on Michigan Avenue to the present five-bay facility with a 30,000-pound RV hoist at 11353 Tecumseh-Clinton Road. Phil is dedicated to quality work and achieving 100% customer satisfaction. He is Master certified to work on vehicles and motorcycles, and also holds certificates for management and auto detailing.
Timothy Lanway
Senior Technician
Tim is our senior auto repair technician who has been working at Phil's Undercar for more than 27 years. He is skilled at fixing almost any vehicle problem. His broad expertise includes maintenance and repair of domestic cars and trucks, as well as import vehicles.
Kris
Service Writer
Customer-oriented, Kris handles customer calls and appointments, and will keep you informed about potential problems or concerns regarding your vehicle. He holds certificates in management and service, and has spearheaded customer-focused programs.
Holly
Bookeeper
Holly pretty much grew up at Phil’s undercar. She recently took over the role as bookkeeper. Holly has always been a numbers person so this position is perfect. Holly is very detailed oriented and keeps Phil’s up and running.
